Application and adjusting

The ready to adjust Chrisofix®® orthoses have to be adjusted directly on the injured/diseased body part. The rough adjustment (bending) has to be performed on a non-injured limb of similar size. Fine adjustments, readjustments (e.g. after soft tissue swelling is reduced) can be made without removing the orthosis.

  • Shape the orthosis on the hand, wrist and forearm.
  • Set the wrist into the required position.
  • Put the arm with the palmar side into the preshaped orthosis.
  • Adjust the orthosis with gentle pressure to the hand and forearm.
  • Replace the stiffener bar.
  • Fasten the bandages over the fingers, hand and forearm.

To remove the orthosis, it is not necessary to open the strap on back of the hand; the hand can simply be pulled out from and later shifted back into the fixation. Frequent bending and stretching of the orthosis can damage its stability;these must be restricted to the necessary minimum.

Choosing and using this product

Selection starts with the condition being treated and the required support. The product name alone does not determine whether it is suitable for you. Ask the treating healthcare professional to match the model, size and application to your care.

How is the right size selected?

Use the measurement and size information shown for this exact model. Size labels are not interchangeable between products. The hand or limb side, where specified, also matters. Ask a healthcare professional to check the fit.

Who decides the application and duration?

The treating healthcare professional determines the application, position and duration for the individual condition. An application illustration or video explains the product; it does not replace individual fitting or professional care.

Can all Chrisofix® products be cleaned in the same way?

No. Follow the material, cleaning and reuse information for the exact product version. A washable, disinfectable or single-use version is not automatically interchangeable with another version. If the supplied product differs from this page, ask Chrisofix® or the supplying professional to identify it.

How does this model compare with related orthoses?

Compare the stated indications below. Related products can support different areas or serve different purposes; they are not automatically interchangeable. Ask your healthcare professional which model suits your treatment.
