First-aid wind-up splint fitting guide
Follow the fitting demonstration for this Chrisofix® model. The steps below explain the preparation, positioning and fastening shown in the manufacturer’s video.
Watch the fitting video
The video is in English. You can switch on subtitles using the CC button when captions are available. In YouTube settings, select Subtitles and, where offered, Auto-translate. Automatic captions and translations may contain errors; the written guide below is available in your selected language.
Before fitting
Check the exact model and size with your healthcare professional before fitting. Keep the product and its supplied fasteners ready. The required joint position and wearing schedule are individual treatment decisions.
This is temporary first-aid fixation, not a long-term treatment plan. It does not replace medical assessment of the injury.
Fitting sequence
- Unroll the splint and prepare a separate bandage or wrap; this model is supplied without straps.
- Pre-shape it on the uninjured opposite limb to match the required support. The appropriate shape depends on the injury and first-aid assessment.
- Position the shaped splint at the injured area and secure it with the separate bandage, following trained first-aid practice.
Check the fit
After fastening, check that the orthosis remains in the prescribed position and that straps or edges do not cause undue pressure or rubbing. Ask your healthcare professional to review an uncomfortable or changed fit rather than repeatedly bending the product.
Questions about fitting
How long should I wear it?
The video demonstrates the product; it does not set your treatment schedule. Follow the wearing time and review arrangements prescribed for your condition.
Where can I find the correct size?
Use the measurements for this exact model on its product page. Sizes and fitting methods are not automatically interchangeable between similar-looking orthoses.
