<\/p>\nThe day use version of the De Quervain orthosis serves to fixate the base joint of the thumb (MCP) and the saddle joint (I. CMC). It may also be used to good effect in cases of De Quervain syndrome for daytime splinting and also for fixation of the metacarpal of the thumb or the saddle joint following injury, sprains or even in the rehabilitation phase following fractures.<\/p>\n
It may also be utilized as complementary treatment to surgery performed on fractures of the thumb metacarpal (Benett, Rolando, Winterstein fractures).<\/p>\n

Application and adjusting<\/strong><\/h5>\n<\/span><\/p>\nThe ready to adjust Chrisofix<\/span>\u00ae<\/span> orthoses have to be adjusted directly on the injured\/diseased body part. <\/span>The rough adjustment (bending) has to be performed on a non-injured limb of similar size. Fine adjust-<\/span>ments, readjustments (e.g. after soft tissue swelling is reduced) can be made without removing the <\/span>orthosis. <\/span><\/p>\n\n- Place the forearm into the ready to use orthosis.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Shape the orthosis to the hand with gentle pressure, and close the ring around the thumb.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Fasten the stable bandage on the wrist and the textile one on the for<\/span>earm.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
To remove the orthosis, it is not necessary to open the strap on the thumb; the thumb can simply be pulled <\/span>out from and later shifted back into the fixation. For daytime use<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\nThe day use version of the De Quervain orthosis serves to fixate the base joint of the thumb (MCP) and the saddle joint (I. CMC). It may also be used to good effect in cases of De Quervain syndrome for daytime splinting and also for fixation of the metacarpal of the thumb or the saddle joint following injury, sprains or even in the rehabilitation phase following fractures.<\/p>\n
It may also be utilized as complementary treatment to surgery performed on fractures of the thumb metacarpal (Benett, Rolando, Winterstein fractures).<\/p>\n

Application and adjusting<\/strong><\/h5>\n<\/span><\/p>\nThe ready to adjust Chrisofix<\/span>\u00ae<\/span> orthoses have to be adjusted directly on the injured\/diseased body part. <\/span>The rough adjustment (bending) has to be performed on a non-injured limb of similar size. Fine adjust-<\/span>ments, readjustments (e.g. after soft tissue swelling is reduced) can be made without removing the <\/span>orthosis. <\/span><\/p>\n\n- Place the forearm into the ready to use orthosis.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Shape the orthosis to the hand with gentle pressure, and close the ring around the thumb.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Fasten the stable bandage on the wrist and the textile one on the for<\/span>earm.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
To remove the orthosis, it is not necessary to open the strap on the thumb; the thumb can simply be pulled <\/span>out from and later shifted back into the fixation. <\/p>\nThe day use version of the De Quervain orthosis serves to fixate the base joint of the thumb (MCP) and the saddle joint (I. CMC). It may also be used to good effect in cases of De Quervain syndrome for daytime splinting and also for fixation of the metacarpal of the thumb or the saddle joint following injury, sprains or even in the rehabilitation phase following fractures.<\/p>\n
It may also be utilized as complementary treatment to surgery performed on fractures of the thumb metacarpal (Benett, Rolando, Winterstein fractures).<\/p>\n

Fine adjust-<\/span>ments, readjustments (e.g. after soft tissue swelling is reduced) can be made without removing the <\/span>orthosis. <\/span><\/p>\n To remove the orthosis, it is not necessary to open the strap on the thumb; the thumb can simply be pulled <\/span>out from and later shifted back into the fixation.
