Application and adjusting

The ready to adjust Chrisofix® orthoses have to be adjusted directly on the injured/diseased body part. The rough adjustment (bending) has to be performed on a non-injured limb of similar size. Fine adjustments, readjustments (e.g. after soft tissue swelling is reduced) can be made without removing the orthosis.

- The orthosis is delivered in a ready to adjust form with the most frequently applied angle of 90°.

- If necessary, open the foot parts of the lateral fixation plates, set the required angle, and close them again (in case of injuries of the Achilles tendon fix the foot in a slightly stretched position of 110°-120°).

- Place the leg with the plantar side into the orthosis.

- Adjust the orthosis carefully to the leg/ankle and fasten it with the bandages.

- The knee must be rested in a slightly bent position with a cushion, especially in the case of Achilles tendon injuries.

Choosing and using this product

Selection starts with the condition being treated and the required support. The product name alone does not determine whether it is suitable for you. Ask the treating healthcare professional to match the model, size and application to your care.

How is the right size selected?

Use the measurement and size information shown for this exact model. Size labels are not interchangeable between products. The hand or limb side, where specified, also matters. Ask a healthcare professional to check the fit.

Who decides the application and duration?

The treating healthcare professional determines the application, position and duration for the individual condition. An application illustration or video explains the product; it does not replace individual fitting or professional care.

Can all Chrisofix products be cleaned in the same way?

No. Follow the material, cleaning and reuse information for the exact product version. A washable, disinfectable or single-use version is not automatically interchangeable with another version. If the supplied product differs from this page, ask Chrisofix or the supplying professional to identify it.

-

- The orthosis is delivered in a ready to adjust form with the most frequently applied angle of 90°.

- If necessary, open the foot parts of the lateral fixation plates, set the required angle, and close them again (in case of injuries of the Achilles tendon fix the foot in a slightly stretched position of 110°-120°).

- Place the leg with the plantar side into the orthosis.

- Adjust the orthosis carefully to the leg/ankle and fasten it with the bandages.

- The knee must be rested in a slightly bent position with a cushion, especially in the case of Achilles tendon injuries.
